Gore-tex boots have become an industry standard for waterproofness and breathability. Yet, nowadays we are able to choose from a wide variety of interpretations of the now classic membrane. Some from Gore-tex itself as with the new Gore-tex Surround that we reported on here, as well as others from competitors.

Therefore, today we present three different boots options as for membrane performance: Salomon slab Xalp as sample for classic Gore-tex membrane, the Viking Kuling mid Gore tex boot with the new GTX Surround version and the alternative represented by the Merrell Capra Glacial Ice+.
