TRAIL RUNNING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IAAF LIVE FROM PORTUGAL: LUIS ALBERTO HERNANDO & CAROLINE CHAVEROT WIN AGAIN.

The second trail running world championships supported by the ITRA (International Trail Running Association) within the IAAF umbrella, have been held at Portugal over an 86k/D+3.500m course.

  • The team titles went once again to France, that took the two golds for men and women, beating Spain in both cases. After the two superpowers, the bronzes went UK women´s team and Germany´s male team.
  • The individual titles went to Luis Alberto Hernando & Caroline Chaverot, who this way summed up their second 2016 world title after having won the previous Ultrasky crown in July at the spanish Pyrenees. Silver medals were for Azara García of Spain and Nicolas Martin of France, while bronzes were awarded to Ragna Debats of the Netherlands and Sylvain Court from France.

The next trail running world championships will also be held at Europe, with 2017 event to be held at Tuscany (ITA) and 2018 at Castellón (ESP).
