Skyrunning rankings 2012: Spaniards leading 3/4 categories, with Jornet, Hernando & Picas.
The 2012 Skyrunner World Series and Skyrace series have taken off to a well known rythm, as spaniards have once again raced each other to lead three out of four categories. Kilian Jornet, Luis Alberto Hernando y Nuria Picas lead, with ony Zhanna Vohkueva from Russia as counterweight in the fourth category. However, the season has just held its first two events and much is yet bound to happen on the rocky slopes that await them all.

Russia: Elbrus SkyRace – 9 May
Greece: Ziria Cross Country SkyRace Goura, Corinto. – 27 May
Italy: Dolomites Skyrace, Canazei, Trento – 22 July
United Kingdom: Snowdon International Race , Llanberis, Wales – 28 July
France: Marathon du Montcalm , Auzat, Ariège – 18 August
RANKINGS SKYRACE SERIES MEN 2012: After the first two sky races held in Russia and Green the Skyrace Series 2012 podium stands as follows: 1. Luis Alberto Hernando (La Sportiva) 200 points. 2. Marco De Gasperi (Scott) 88 pts. 3. Dimitris Theodorokakos (Salomon Running) 88 pts.
RANKINGS SKYRACE SERIES WOMEN 2012: After the first two sky races held in Russia and Green the top three spots go to: 1. Zhanna Vokueva (Salomon Running) 200 pts. 2. Aleksandra Dzik 88 pts. 3. Ranelle McCoy 88 pts.

Kilian Jornet (Salomon Running) 178 pts. 2. Mike Wolfe (The North face) 102 pts. 3. Dakota Jones (Montrail) 102 pts. Spaniard Luis Alberto Hernando, current leader of the Skyrace category, makes it here to 4th place, due to his strong performance at Zegama earning him 88 points.
RANKINGS SKYRUNNER WORLD SERIES WOMEN 2012: Following the results of the first two events in the season´s calendar, the current leaders for this Skyrunner world are: 1. Nuria Picas (FEEC) 176 pts. 2. Nikki Kimball (The North Face) 140 pts. 3. Uxue Fraile (Columbia) 132 pts. Oihana Kortazar comes in 4th here, due to her victory at Zegama and consequent 100 points earnt.
